Ellie belfiglio

When I hear this sound that awakens me, intimidating its way into my cloistered night, I write…

A Woman forever

Sun rising in your eye.

Under your feet, earth moving by.

Your beauty, why haven’t seen?

Hold your hand for feeling, not demean!

The softness, the kindness in high degree;

Yet there is Might in your arms, help me!

For I’m blind and can’t see.

For I’ve sloped you,

When you give “love”, it is true.

I’ve killed the very thing,

The person, theΒ WOMAN, everything!

The woman who gave me life.

Never brought me to grave of strife.

For all is lost.

A storm is coming with gust.

Tall, she will once more stand,

While help I look for from your hand.

She will walk strong,

While I stumble along.

She will hold out her hand.

Fears in her eyes stand.

Pain of heart, she will love me.

She is a woman who has fed me.

Look, you’re blind;

You don’t hear, have no mind!

You don’t feel,

For she will always reveal;

A woman forever!

Never she sever!! …

I am a professor, a poet, an author, and an immigrant. I am the survival of many political and economical hardship. As a political immigrant, it took me a long time to master the English language and to come to terms that I can never see my family again. "THE PARTING FROM MY FAMILY WAS THE BEGINNING OF A FRIENDSHIP THAN THE END OF OUR FRIDAYS!" My autobiography, "THE RAIN STOPS IN TEXAS" was published in 1997 by Eakin Press. It can be found in Amazon. As Ernest Hemingway says, write about something you know, most of my novels are about cultural difference of the old and new and American style of living compare to my home country. My poetry are in all forms. I write as they come to me. My first draft is always my last draft. "THIS IS MY WORLD, WELCOME!" "THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE!"
