I cry alone,
yet not for me are the tears I shed;
but for those whose hope has faded,
to be abandoned in life, in torment to fear.
To be condemned for, they don’t conform.
To be abused, to have dreams forlorn.
To be deemed unfit for others tastes.
To be left alone because there is fear,
a fear so misplaced that it should not be there.
I long to embrace them who call,
who cry for help or for love.
Those who must die alone, suffer from life,
or can not go home.
At last I cry alone for America,
yet not for me, but what happened to her!! …
