I was rocked to sleep beneath moon’s white beam.

A friendly ghost from time long past-

Whispered, sighed, its graces, she cast!

… Shadows played below moonbeam;

Chased by the restless wind in their gleam.

Little lullaby, a lovely song-

Kept its meaning nice and strong!

… Yearning, things yet unseen,

Sang to me so serene.

Whispered fragments of old broken shield;

Rode on the strange, haunting field!

… Lured from my sleep, I danced with greed;

Entranced by music and light indeed!

Then suddenly I knew my aim;

The likeness of night and flame.

… He winked and smiled beneath the cloud.

His song grew soft, not aloud.

His secret was discovered, he floated away,

At the shimmering, faint touch of gray!! …

“AMONG THE CAGED”

… So much can be seen in just one glance.

So much to be seen-

should he give you the chance.

… A man of wisdom, strength, courage-

thoughtful and caring;

though easily discouraged.

… He’s a friendly soul;

a man you can trust.

But he is paying his toll, his feeling, not discussed.

… My eyes see a man destined to achieve,

“great power and wealth…”

But his eyes reflect a man, deceived…

One who’s trapped within himself.

… A victim of society- though, but not faceless in crowd.

Embracing life with such propriety-

he’s compassionate, yet proud.

… His heart reveals feeling, expression-end in ways,

not easily gauged.

But his eyes are those of a bird, extinct.

Doomed forever… among the caged!! …

There might have been a thing I missed;

“PRANCING”

… Darkness encloses me all around,

Just like a wicked, tormented frown.

Watching shadows, I rise quietly,

Just as if they dancing.

It felt as if I was prancing-

Just for that one moment;

A prancer in  my dreams;

Or that is how it seems perhaps!

… Whatever I believe,

They’re things I can’t deceive.

Suddenly the dancing stops.

Raging shadows go off.

All of them begin attacking me.

Many things there, I can’t see…

… What is this place?

It seems like hell!

It is a nightmare wrapped in dream.

I wake up screaming…

Stiff, scared, dreadful!

Wondering how I ever bared-

The darkness that forever enclose me!! …

“I AM A TREE”

I am a tree that is uprooted;

And placed in another spot to grow.

The new earth is fresh and rich;

But my life is just not the same.

I am left to grow awhile, only to be-

uprooted again for somewhere else.

With each change, just a little further away,

I grow all the more a stranger…

Each time the tree moves,

Tries to pull it together,

Until only a miracle can branch it out again.

The changes…

They do their duties…

Blooming in spring, shading in summer,

Shedding in fall, standing bare in winter.

There are names in my trunk!

There are places and people and heart with an arrow!

There are long last memories;

Forgotten with each move!! …
