When I hear this sound that awakens me, intimidating its way into my cloistered night, I write…

All my troubles, I cast aside.

I sew me a wing to fly, I glide.

As I fly, the breeze caresses my face.

I marvel at God’s creating grace.

The taste in my mouth has been the salty tears.

God taught me to pray on spire of fears.

Praying Hands over a Holy Bible

How I have seen bad days and a few good days.

I even learned that heartaches don’t last always.

I know victory, and yes, the agony of defeat;

That is what you call a life of bitter sweet.

My smiles most surely never outweigh my frowns;

And my ups don’t tower far above my downs!

At times I laugh so hard I want to cry.

Then I cry so hard, I don’t know why.

I heard each tear or sigh is a stepping stone-

On my long journey home alone!

Yes, I have flown on my unseen wings;

Saw things, learned some, and observed many things.

I’ve soared with my wings, but I failed;

Yet through it all, I’ve still prevailed!! …

I am a professor, a poet, an author, and an immigrant. I am the survival of many political and economical hardship. As a political immigrant, it took me a long time to master the English language and to come to terms that I can never see my family again. "THE PARTING FROM MY FAMILY WAS THE BEGINNING OF A FRIENDSHIP THAN THE END OF OUR FRIDAYS!" My autobiography, "THE RAIN STOPS IN TEXAS" was published in 1997 by Eakin Press. It can be found in Amazon. As Ernest Hemingway says, write about something you know, most of my novels are about cultural difference of the old and new and American style of living compare to my home country. My poetry are in all forms. I write as they come to me. My first draft is always my last draft. "THIS IS MY WORLD, WELCOME!" "THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE!"
